Stinson Beach
Serenity in West Marin
Stinson Beach, a town of about 600 residents, is a highlight of West Marin with its miles of beautiful white sand beach lying between the Pacific Ocean and the slopes of Mount Tamalpais. The downtown area of Stinson Beach has restaurants, art galleries, a bookstore, a general store, and tourist shops, plus limited overnight lodging for year-round visitors.
The residential areas comprise the hillside streets with ocean views, the charming “Calles” leading to the beach just north of downtown, and the gated Seadrift community of about 300 homes fronting the Pacific Ocean, Seadrift Lagoon, and Bolinas Lagoon. Many of the homes in the Calles and Seadrift are available for vacation rentals.
The public beach, also named Stinson Beach, is part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. Very popular on warm days throughout the spring, summer, and fall, it is a serene and beautiful destination year round.
